I love business to business marketing and think this is an avenue of business not utilized by many originators. I asked Jerry Tomlinto expand on his recent comment on this blog "I love these. (Tag-A-Room Stickers) I market to apartment complexes with a local mover, he's going to love this "add on" we can include in our mailer!"
Here's what he had to say:
"My relationship with my mover is as a client first, which always makes it easier to have a strong referral partnership. We advertise to various apartment complexes in our area. I market to first time home buyers and he is looking for anyone moving out OR up. It generates activity but he generally has a better response than I do. For local purchases I include a coupon for $100 off any local move when my client prequalifies through me. In return he notifies me when he gets an inquiry for a move. He also handles commercial moves which puts him in and out of businesses all day and that just gives me one more person out there talking to the public about me or listening out for opportunities."
Look at your current sphere of influence for other small business owners/managers that could benefit from a partnership. Don't hesitate to ask them about the opportunity for a win-win situation. The current struggles in our economy have many looking for creative solutions.
