I just finished up a 4-week Realtor E-Class with David Bush of My Mortgage Community and he shared a fun idea that WORKED for him. You don't need to necessarily do this exact thing, but take the concept and create your own unique, attention-grabbing idea. Thanks, Dave for sharing this great idea!
Here are the details Dave provided me:
1. Had a friendship with a top producer who liked me but never sent me business
2. Wanted to make an impact on him and show him as was creative and an out of the box thinker
3. Stopped by Victoria Secret and asked for a couple free boxes (pink of course)
4. Printed a piece a paper with my picture on it that said "Her SECRET is out...she's now using David Bush from ABC Mortgage to help her increase her Payday!" or something of that nature.
5. Glued paper to bottom of box so it would be the first thing he saw when he opened it and taped mini-payday candy bars all around it (enough for the whole office)
6. Taped it shut and delivered it to the receptionist with a helium balloon attached to it and a big girly looking note saying TO: Tom FROM: Someone Special
7. He called me laughing and said the whole office got a good laugh from it and we scheduled a lunch appt. a few weeks later.
8. 3 months later he referred me a deal and asked me to partner with him on some marketing
9. 6 months later I became his preferred lender
NOTE: It wasn't until 6 months later that he became this Realtors preferred lender. Pig Headed Discipline and Determination. I love it!
I really enjoyed this Victoria Secret/candy bar box. That was a really great idea. I think I could have some fun with that.
I find your articles fun, interesting and informative to read. You are constantly reinventing our mortgage marketing and making it easier for us to move forward in our business. I thank you for that.

Sometimes it's the little things that you tell us has worked for you, or someone else, that gives us the ideas to make our business grow. Times are tough and we need all the business we can get before the rate take off again. realtors, builders and developers are our business in the future.

Bliss ... The package of seeds idea really works. I used them as part of branch promotion when I was in retail banking. It is a great way to a conversation about something other than the weather. and, if done right, can transition to curb appeal for their listings and leads for the L.O. Rick Cignoli
