I just heard from David Robinson, founding editor of Mortgage Originator Magazine, who sadly reported that the magazine has ceased publishing, effective immediately. I have been a contributing editor to M.O.M for nearly six years and thoroughly enjoyed my association with all involved in this great publication.
Even before my time as a coach and trainer, I was an avid M.O.M reader. I can truly say that in the early years of my origination career, much of my motivation and drive to try new things came from this high-quality magazine. Of all the similar resources in our industry over the past 20 years, this was my favorite. I dog-eared and saved most every issue.
So, now we say good-bye. A sad one at that. But thank you David, for your time, your expertise and the high quality product you delivered for so many years.
Loan officers... feel free to comment below with your thoughts on this.

The first year I was in the business I attended a seminar you did sponsored by Mortgage Originator Magazine in Boston. This had a huge impact on my success. What you provided as well as the magazine. I too faithfully read it every month and am sorry to see this happen.

I'm so sad I'm considering tatooing M.O.M. on my arm! :)
Seriously, this magazine was a major contributor to my success and it is truly a sad day and a major loss to our industry to see such a valuable resource go away.
We hope to continue the charge by providing similar education, training and coaching at Velma.com! Let's make a community resource that can become the "Wikipedia" of strategies, tools and educational resources for the mortgage originator.

I have LOVED this magazine for years now. What a sad thing for all of us. I keep hoping we won't see any more drastic changes and than something else comes up. But this was unexpected, I'm sure for everyone!

Bummer. I have not been the avid "trade" magazine reader, but this is about the only one I ever read.

WOW... I am shocked. I read many of the industry magazines and this was on top of all of them. Do you think it's going to get to the point where everything is virtual? I like getting my magazine in the mail. I just hope you don't give up on us!!!

Very disappointing! I've enjoyed and relied on MOM for years. I've only written 2 articles for them, but in both cases it was an enjoyable experience to work with them!

Well that is sad news indeed. I've received my subscription here in Canada for the last 3 years and the back-issues have a place on my office bookshelf library with other handy reference materials.
I enjoyed reading the many contributions from my American cousins and applying some of your tried and true marketing and referral techniques up here in my market. With the size of the mortgage originator market in Canada only about 30% of the total pie (banks get the rest in direct business, but we're fighting them hard), I took many valuable lessons and tips in expanding my business.
Unfortunately I have to admit I saw the day coming as I compared the size and scope of past issues to the smaller issues of recent months.
Best wishes to the staff and contributors for a return to prosperity and better days ahead for us all.

Too bad - I have been reading this magazine since my first day in the industry 3 years ago.
With the loss of so many wholesalers, you could tell the advertising dollars just weren't there to support it anymore.

How sad that we're losing yet another print publication:( In these financially stressed times print media is the best way to get the big picture. The 15 second news blip just can't tell the story!
M.O.M. you will be missed.

That is sad news! I have been reading the magazine for years. I learned so much from those articles.... Sad, sad, sad....

This is sad. I have learned so much from M.O.M. I also have kept several copies to refer back to later. I have been reading M.O.M for at least 8 years. Truly will be miss.
