Once you make room in your business so that you have the ABILITY to serve, it is necessary to have the DESIRE to serve. Serve your referral partners, clients, prospective clients and your staff. Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles wrote a great book on this; Raving Fans is a small book with big ideas on customer service.
What kind of service? Here's a few ideas:
- Get things done before expected.
- Offer to help your staff when they are overloaded.
- Bring in lunch to a Realtor or builder and their team.
- Have a few financial books for prospects to choose from when you first meet with them.
- Small gifts as a token of your appreciation to staff, referral partners.
- Small closing gifts to clients.
- Get involved with charitable organizations that will also allow you to get to know more people while serving.
Look at each situation you are presented with throughout the day and ask yourself this question "what is the opportunity in this to serve?" Take time to really search for ways to serve others.
If you haven't already taken my "Why so serious" Challenge.... do it this week!
Take the Challenge - Print this list of 13 traits and ask your staff (anyone you work closely with) to rank you on each item. Let them know you are trying to improve and value their feedback. To enter the giveaway, post a comment on any of my blog posts with your total score. (Yes - your score can be anonymous if you choose. Email addresses will not show up on the comment, they are only so I can contact the winner!) Drawing will be held September 15.

Thanks for encouraging.. It looks like I am right in line with others at 115. I think my processor enjoyed doing it.. and the chocolate I gave here with the survey. I figured it couldn't hurt :)
